Stocks
In the "stocks" assignment, I had to make an excel spreadsheet dealing with stocks. I had to use brand new formulas that I've never used before. Some of the formulas I had to use referred to other cells. This assignment was kind of difficult, but it wasn't the hardest one I have had to do. We also had to highlight certain columns which you really can't see in the picture. Multiplying the cells by other cells using a formula was confusing for me. It took me a while to figure it out. Then at the very end, I had to total up each column of data. When you do that, you just highlight each column, then press the Auto Sum button and it adds them all up. In this assignment, I think I could have took my time, and made sure all of the calculations were right. To do that, you use the show formulas button in the formula group in the ribbon. I think in this assignment, I did a very good job with the shading and the calculations.
Excel #22
This assignment is called Excel #22. In this assignment, I had to act like a teacher, and insert grades into an excel spreadsheet. Also, in this assignment, I had to use a few new formulas to find the average, high average, and low average. This assignment was kind of difficult. Using brand new formulas can be very confusing, except that the assignment sheet, said what formulas to write. In this assignment, I also had to insert clip are that was related to this assignment. I inserted an apple with 2 books underneath it, that reminds me of a teacher with an apple on her desk from a student. At the very end of the assignment, we had to answer 5 questions about the overall assignment and the chart. In this assignment, I think that I could have answered them more thoroughly. Other than that, I think that I did a very good job at this assignment, and I worked very hard on it.
Group Excel Project: Pie Chart
In this Microsoft assignment, we had a group project. My group had to learn and teach the class how to make a pie chart. In this assignment, we had to make a presentation explaining how to use the pie charts in Excel, and make an assignment for the class to do. The presentation that we made (First picture on left) had step by step information on how to make the pie chart. In the assignment, I learned about trying to work in a group, and trying to teach yourself a something new when you can barely get any help. This project was done by myself, and two other people in my class. In my opinion, I think that we did very good. There were only a couple things that we could have done better. One of them were to make the instructions a little bit more clear on what do. Another one was that in the assignment, we said to put WordArt in as the title, when it should have just been a regular title. Our instructions were very confusing and I believe that we could have done better. I think with what we had, we did a good job presenting it. In the photo below, you can see that our instructions are not that clear, and very confusing. In this case, I wish that we reread them to see if they were confusing. In my opinion though, this project taught me a lot and I used so many different tools in Excel that I never thought were possible.
50 Yacht Mortgage
50 Yacht Mortgage was an assignment in Microsoft Excel. In this assignment, we had to calculate yacht mortgages by using the "PMT" formula. Using the payment formula was kind of confusing. It took a couple times for me to really understand how to use it correctly. We had to put in all the data into the excel spreadsheet, and then use the payment function to find out how much money you would pay a month. After we filled out the whole chart, we had to answer a few questions. The first two were to highlight the lowest and highest mortgages. The third question was how much money would you need for the mortgage over that many years. When we did that we had to multiply the lowest number by how many payments. The better deal out of those two was the lower payment over the larger amount of years. In this assignment, I learned how to calculate my own mortgage, and it can be used for many other topics. It can be used for car loans, or student loans in college. Overall, I think that learning how to use the "PMT" formula will be very useful later on in life.
